"Rumor Has It"

I just finished watching the movie "Rumor Has It" with Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Costner. I actually really liked the movie.

Except for the last two minutes.

Without giving the whole story line, it goes something like this: Girl meets Boy. Girl and Boy get engaged. Boy catches Girl liplocked with another Guy. Girl beats herself up and realizes the err of her ways. Boy takes Girl back.

BULLSHIT!!!

Perhaps it is just kind of where I am in my life right now, but I am so sick of Hollywood feeding us "happy endings." That just isn't the way life goes 90% of the time. Why ruin a perfectly good movie with a totally unrealistic ending?

Save the happy endings for the $5 bonus at the massage parlor.

I like the happy endings...my life isn't all happy endings and if I am going to pay out all that money - I don't want to be sad about it. Ladder 49 ticked me off - the good guy never dies... darn it.

But I hope things in your life get better and that you have a happy ending!

5 dollars? FIVE? Dollars?

Really?

Yeah, people go to movies to remove themselves from reality sometimes. Although I'm not a fan of unrealistic endings, it never hurts for them to be happy.

PS - if you want an Aniston movie with no happy ending, try Break Up. Wow!

I don't care what anybody says...Kevin Costner is hot. Always a happy ending for me. Just sayin'.

Let me clarify... I enjoy happy endings when it feels like they are deserved. The problem was that this movie felt like it should end two minutes before the credits rolled.

I'm all about the fairy tale... (That's probably half of my problem in life - I keep waiting for the 'happily ever after' to happen) But in this particular instance, it felt like an ending that the director tacked on just for the sake of having a happy ending... Like, they weren't quite sure how to end it, so let's just do this...

And, Blogarita, (SPOILER ALERT!!!) she doesn't end up with Kevin Costner... Costner is the "other guy." Although, I agree with you - he was definitely smokin' in this film, as always.

By the way, Dave - If you are paying for than five bucks for a happy ending, let me give you the name of my masseuse, 'cause you're way over-paying.

I KNOW your masseuse, HE is Dr. Mike, and he just bills my insurance for the happy endings anyway. ;)
